Mushroom Paneer Biryani recipe in simple easy steps

Ingredients needed

Basmati rice – 1 cup
Onion – 3/4 cup (cut lengthwise)
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Green chilli -1 slit
Tomato puree – 1/2 cup
Button Mushrooms – 1 cup (200 grams)
Paneer cubes – 3/4 cup
Coriander leaves -fistful (chopped )
Mint leaves -fistful (chopped )
Thick curd – 1/4 cup
Salt to taste

Spice powder

Chilli powder – 3/4 -1 tsp (use less if store bought)
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Biryani masala powder – 1 tsp (available ready made)
Coriander powder – 1 tsp

For the seasoning

Oil/Ghee – 2 tbsp (or mix of both ghee and oil)
Cloves -2
Cinnamon – 1 inch piece
Cardamom -1
Bay leaf – 1 (optional)

For cooking the rice

Cloves 1
Cinnamon -1 inch piece
Ghee -1 tsp


Soak Basmati rice for 20 minutes, drain and set aside. Cut the mushroom into 2 pieces and cut it into cubes.
Cut the onion vertically.

If your tofu is watery, drain it completely with a muslin. In a bowl, add thick tofu, half of paprika, coriander powder, biryani masala, ginger garlic, a little salt and mix well. Then add mushrooms and cheese cubes and mix well. Let it take 15-20 minutes.


Heat a teaspoon of butter, add cloves, cinnamon, stir a few rice. Then add 2 glasses of water, a little salt, cook until 3/4 finished. Exhaust excess water (see below). Do not cook completely because we will eventually cook again. We do not want a mushy biryani.

Heat the butter or pan oil, add the ingredients mentioned under the seasoning, fry for a few seconds, add the sliced ‚Äč‚Äčonion and cut into green peppers. Stir the onion becomes transparent.

Then add ginger garlic, stir for a few seconds.

Now add tomato sauce, turmeric powder and the rest of the spice powder (remember we only added half for pickling) until the tomato has become pasty.Now look at the tomato cooked well. Add pickled mushrooms and cheese at this stage. Good mix.

Add parsley, mint leaves, salt, cook until the third of cooked mushrooms (remember we add salt in the rice, add salt, so salt)

How to prepare mushroom paneer biryani

Now we have to do layered –

Sprinkle half the gravy in a covered pan, and place half of the rice on top. (First photo)

Then spread the remaining gravy. (The second one)

Then place the remaining meters on top and close the lid. (Page 3)

Keep in a very low flame for 5-6 minutes. Open and gently blend biryani. Heat up this aromatic biryani with raita or any side dish of your choice. I have prepared my instant potato gravy as a garnish in this area.

Beginners, do not be scared by looking at the list of ingredients and steps. In fact, I have made it easier for everyone.
